Pastor Roger K. N. Edwards

Roger Kern Norval Edwards was born and grew up in Trinidad (the most southerly island in the Caribbean).  He is the son of Kern and Rosita Edwards and brother of Kernita Edwards-Bailey and Karl Edwards.

He is an ordained minister of the gospel who began his ministry in 1994 and has worked in Tobago and in various parts of Trinidad.  In 2002, he was privileged to spend one year in Australia, serving Wallsend SDA in New South Wales as a volunteer youth pastor.  This experience radically transformed his life and ministry.

From 2007 – 2011 he was given the opportunity to serve as Youth Director of the South Caribbean Conference of SDA..  He also served as the President of the Ministerial Association of the same Conference (2011 - 2013).  Currently he is the assigned pastor of the Woodbrook District, which includes Carenage, Cocorite and Woodbrook Seventh-day Adventist Churches.

Believing that ministry needs pastors who are not only qualified academically in programs that are theological in nature, he added to his BA in Theology (1994) from Andrews University, a Diploma in Human Resource Management (2005) from Cipriani College of Labour and Cooperative Studies, and a MBA in General Management (2010) from Henley Management College in the United Kingdom.  He is currently doing his doctoral work in Business Administration with Columbia Southern University, Alabama, USA.  These other areas of study have greatly enhanced his ability in the area administration and management - areas in which God has gifted him.

In 2006, he married the beautiful, brilliant and talented Avanelle Joseph and together they are proud parents of Zacharie Kern Ethan Edwards who was born in 2009.

He is a lover of sports, particularly cricket and table tennis. He also enjoys reading, developing marketing and strategic plans for various projects and institutions, and is a firm believer in making ministry relevant.  As such, he led out in the development of the concept and implementation of the “Making A Difference” (MAD) service camp - ministry designed primarily for youth to positively impact the community for Jesus by engaging in humanitarian activities.  Another major enterprise of his was the first Youth Congress (August 2011) in the Caribbean Union that was initiated and hosted by a Conference in which all levels (General Conference, Inter-American Division, Caribbean Union and the various Conferences within the aforementioned Union) of the Church within the Youth Department were present.

God has utilized Pastor Edwards in leading over five hundred (500) persons to Jesus.
